Photo of the Week April 29th

Not long ago, I stopped by a local public library that used to be a millionaire’s mansion before the Great Depression. I'd been here before, but only with a small point and shoot camera. This is a public place, so technically, there should be no issues with photographing the building - or even the people inside the building. Unfortunately, I was surprised with how quickly a librarian strictly confronted me telling me to obtain permission from the chief librarian and to not take pictures of the people inside the library. Two lessons to be learned: 1.  Sometimes it is best to leave the DSLR at home and bring a smaller camera. Easier said than done, I have a feeling that I'll continue to bring my DSLR to many a public location. 2. Whenever you face a situation like this, be sure to act friendly and courteous, as an arrogant photographer will not be treated nicely.
