Some of my favorite photographs from 2011

I hope everyone had a great year. I sure did! Here are some of my favorite photographs from 2011. Happy New Year; God Bless!
Fireworks

I took this photograph after an outdoor concert. I brought my tripod because of the scheduled fireworks, which didn't disappoint. I picked this picture because of the reddish smoke, which makes this photograph stunning.

Early Morning Cloud Watchers

Photograph by Daniel Hancock

After waking up in expectation of a sunrise, I didn't get much of a sunrise. However the clouds were spectacular. I looked for an object to base the composition on, which ended up being the chairs. I moved the chairs so that they would fit into the composition better, which I think turned out quite nicely.

I have several pictures of this small waterfall. Some from the front, like a typical waterfall photograph. However, I like this unique photograph, which includes the interesting roots of the tree.
Blue Hen Falls, Cuyahoga Valley NP

Photograph by Daniel Hancock

This photograph is from one of my favorite places to take pictures, Cuyahoga Valley NP. I broke several so called, "photography rules" in this photograph; including the one about leaving space for subject movement. I wanted to capture the waterfall in this photograph, but also the leaves. The lighting was great, and it turned out to be a great picture!
